The only edit to this photo was a hint of contrast--the colors are this intense & vibrant in person. Absolutely surreal. When I first saw these mountains, I wondered if they were a mirage. The Abajo Mountains, located west of Monticello, Utah, will stop you in your tracks. The red field & green foliage contrast to the bright blues of the range, which is commonly referred to as the Blue Mountains. "Abajo" in Spanish means "low", referring to the peak of the mountain, which has an elevation of 11,360 ft. (3,460 m). You can explore this mountain by visiting the Manti-La Sal National Forest in Utah.
