I am a storyteller with a desire to inspire others to spend more time galavanting in forests & exploring the world that stretches beyond comfort zones by sharing my photographs, words, & experiences. Life is meant to be lived, so get out there & play.
I grew up believing that art was something to do for fun in your spare time, & I never believed that photography was something I could really do. So I finished high school, went straight to college to earn a degree that I didn't really want, & put myself in the nine-to-five grind. I was miserable.
I focused (pun intended) my spare time on what I actually loved, photography, immersing myself in that world. I purchased my first semi-pro camera in 2008. I read every book, blog, message board, & tutorial that I could, experimenting with varying lighting conditions & subjects. Friends & family noticed my work & hired me to photograph portraits & weddings for nearly eight years before I realized that my true passion was among the wild things -- the trees, the mountains, the rivers, & the skies. Pursuing wilderness photography is one that has challenged me physically & emotionally, but that has bestowed life's greatest gifts of gratitude & happiness.
I now work part-time for an airline & part-time for a local restaurant, filling every gap in between work with adventures, photography, & writing. I currently reside in Kalispell, Montana with my husband, Ian, & our beloved Belgian Malinois, Rommel. We're expecting our first child, no doubt a mountain dude, in August 2018.
